IO5 Assessment criteria
Intellectual Output 5 - Assessment criteria

In order to underscore the efficiency, impact and sustainability of the study programme, the project partners - led by Newcastle University (UK) - developed a set of success criteria to assess the quality and efficacy of all parts of the study programme. To integrate the various elements of the study programme in other Higher Education (HE) contexts, the partners provide 'models' that can be used as a framework to adapt and modify depending on one's own context. This will include a catalogue of criteria which can be used to assess innovative student outputs, and can further serve as a basis for giving feedback on students' ePortfolios. proPIC Assessment criteria

Assessment criteria has been developed to reflect the process of the programme on the side of students and teacher educators. Further, this criteria has been specified against which the outcomes of the programme (ePortfolios, assignments, etc.) can be measured.

To develop these criteria, the partners face a number of challenges that came up when developing a common set of assessment criteria in a rather heterogenous and transnational community of teacher educators:
In autumn 2019, Mareike Oesterle from Karlsruhe and Alison Whelan from Newcastle got together for about a week and developed a first draft of assessment criteria. Have a look at the images below to see how this first draft was developed:

Exemplary 'models' how to use the assessment criteria - assessment grids

Please note: Due to the spread of the Corona Virus, the project partners were not able to test and refine the developmed assessment criteria as they planned to do. This was, because Cohort III could not take part in the study programme properly and Study Week III had to be cancelled. However, we hope that our criteria will be used by the partners, as well as by other professionals in the future.
How we collaborated - an example of transnational project work

This is an example of how we tried to promote transnational project work between the project partners. Please also check out our ePortfolio for more activities.
